It's a disgustingly windy day outside so we only rode for 20min or so. There was trash (paper) blowing into the arena from the incinerator/dump across the way and she didn't like that much but still behaved herself. Only let out one buck and a few crow hops; some head shaking, but otherwise was very well behaved. A lot better than I expected and far better than most other horses at the barn would have behaved, haha.
I didn't post from our last few rides; one was for 15min and she did fabulous that day so we ended it shortly. The last time she did really well also. I'm so proud of my little brat-horse. She's been fighting/pulling at the bit lately so we worked on transitions for about an hour the other day and she picked it up right away! Her trot-canter transition needs more work (she's been hard-headed about going into the canter) but she actually did a walk-canter transition perfectly, I was incredibly pleased so we ended our day there!
Here are a few free pictures from after our short ride today. I figured she might have some extra energy to get out, but she didn't even romp around a whole lot. Silly horse.
She has a BUTT!! Putting on weight nicely though :)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get a little more on her. She looked pretty thick during winter (and her winter coat wasn't very thick) but when I shaved her she seemed thin, but "in shape." I figured she could use a few more pounds. She's barely at 800lbs..
ReplyDeleteSeriously Renee, that little lady is getting BUFF!!! She look amazing! When you posted that before and after pic on HGS my jaw dropped!!! It's amazing when you compare side by side like that. <3
